THE PROJECT
In January 2024, The Del Mundo Foundation proudly launched its inaugural livelihood project in Pototan, Iloilo, Philippines, with the goal of helping families build more secure and self-reliant futures.
THE NEED
As part of our mission to empower local communities, the Foundation distributed 53 pedicabs, locally known as "trisikad", to carefully selected recipients. Some replaced old and deteriorating units; others went to unemployed men seeking a source of livelihood or to drivers who had been renting their pedicabs.
In Pototan, a pedicab is more than transportation - it is a means of earning daily income and supporting a family.
BEYOND THE DISTRIBUTION
The Foundation also provided sacks of rice and cash to support families' immediate needs and hosted a communal lunch to celebrate this milestone together.

A New Beginning
For the recipients, a trisikad represented more than transportation- it represented hope, dignity, and the opportunity to build a better future. This inaugural project marked the beginning of the Del Mundo Foundation's commitment to creating sustainable changes, one family at a time.
The Foundation distributed "53 trisikads". Fifty-two were awarded to carefully selected beneficiaries in Pototan. After one recipient sadly passed away before the distribution, the remaining "trisikad' was donated with the family's understanding, to a newly established Catholic school in Guimaras Island operated by the Hijas de Jesus Sisters, where it continues to serve the school community.

One of the 53 "trisikads"was donated to the Hijas De Jesus Sisters in Guimaras. In the Picture is Sisters Nelda Paloma and Sister Rose Remigio.
